TL;DR
- I started writing this summary in March and finally got to complete it!
- Published a public list of , as conversation starters for people who don’t know me yet
- Thinking deeper about the problem of values alignment, and how society can incentivize us to do things that are “good” for us, but not aligned to humanity’s benefit. (For example, hide information to get ahead, build moats around businesses, zero-sum competition even when the environment provides abundance, etc.) How might we build a society where incentives are directly aligned with humanity’s progress, where positive-sum mindset is obvious in the short term?
- Published Eudaform Labs, as an attempt to combine interests in urban planning, environmental well-being, web3, and distributed innovation under one umbrella term.
Intro
This update took longer to write than the previous two. Partially because of travel. Partially because some concepts were hard to put into words. And partially because I have fell victim to my self-imposed structures again. After the previous two updates, I developed an expectation (of myself) to write a monthly update following a similar format as before. Something that started as a self-expression exercise quickly became an obligation and another “thing to complete”, which defied its purpose… I’ve also started (over)thinking if this post would be too long, if anyone would read it if so, etc.
Finally, I caught myself in this loop and remembered I was doing this for myself, which eventually unblocked me. Still, it took a few iterations to complete.
Locations
- February was my last month in Bangkok 🇹🇭.
- In March, I visited a pop-up camp in Mũi Né 🇻🇳, then Saigon, and Hanoi, picked up Covid on the way that weirdly gave me insomnia, flew to San Francisco 🇺🇸, and attended the Hoffman Process in Petaluma.
- In April, I returned to San Francisco and moved into a coliving house to start my journey here.
Things I did
- After a couple of months of isolation, I got out of my shell and started socializing more. Turns out that ice bath events 🧊 are great ways to meet interesting people. ****Also, I spontaneously made 2 friends by interviewing people at theCOMMONS about their experience in the mall
- Serendipitously, a person I randomly met at theCOMMONS offered to sublet her place which perfectly matched my dates. It truly feels like I caught a wave of synchronicities.
- Started publicly sharing my , as conversation starters for people who want to know more about me, and a way to cluster information I read.
- Set up a Farcaster server for Vibe Scout and got a developer on UpWork to help. It will be a Farcaster photo/mapping app w/ EAS integration.
- Tune Scout has resonated with a lot of people. A developer I met in Bangkok might have time to help me build it.
- Launched LaptopFriendly Hero 🦸🏻♀️🦸🏾♂️🦸🏼 program to help scale the community organically
- So far it’s confirmed that
- Ambassadors are interested in distributing stickers among “LaptopFriendly Hubs”
- Approached venues were happy to officially state that they welcome our community, and are willing to display stickers on their locations
- However, after I stopped advocating, the Ambassadors dropped momentum too. I’m yet to find a sustainable way to do this without needing to be constantly in the loop.
- ZuWell did alright on the Gitcoin funding round. We received ~ETH 2.5 and have officially kickstarted on April 1! We’re starting with an interview template to discuss with pop-up village hosts their experiences and awareness of how the environment might affect their residents.
