Observations
- I’d often Shazam music at different venues
- When I’m at a public venue like a cafe, restaurant, or bar, my mood is heavily influenced by the music
- I’d often make my choice of where to go based on music, rather than food, ambiance, or price
Hypothesis
If I could see the latest music playing at venues around my city, I’d use the info to choose where to go.
Problems
- When I Shazam a song, there is no way to attach a venue (so I can get back to review it, or share it with friends)
- There is no way to know the typical music played in venues around me, unless I’ve personally been there or had a direct recommendation
- I can’t showcase all my Shazammed music on my profile/map
Pitch
TuneScout is an app where I can:
- Show music I detected “in the wild” (different places I went to) on my profile with a timeline and map of venues where I detected them
- See detected music by other people on a timeline and map, so that I might choose where to go based on my music preferences
